Radioplane Target Drone

Famed silent film star Reginald Denny made a successful transition to the “talkies,” but always dreamed of building radio-controlled model airplanes. After moving from the UK to Hollywood, Denny secured a contract with the US War Department for the production of radio-controlled target drones. He launched Radioplane, and opened a factory in Van Nuys, California in 1940, eventually producing more than 15,000 drones, including this model OQ-19B.
